Emerging from over a decade of hands-on experience with international development institutions, KCI brings together a team of professionals who understand both the complexity of development systems and the urgency of delivering measurable impact. While headquartered in the United States, KCI’s roots and expertise lie deeply in Sub-Saharan Africa, where our team has successfully supported governments, regional institutions, and partners in designing, implementing, and evaluating transformative initiatives. Message from the Founder and CEO
Welcome to Kerus Consulting International. More than a decade ago, I stood in a remote village in West Africa, watching engineers and their teams build a road that would connect communities that had long been isolated. I remember seeing children playing nearby and local traders waiting patiently, knowing that this road would change their lives. That moment made me realize something I had always believed deep down. Development is not only about roads, electricity, or money. It is about knowledge. Knowledge of what works, what does not, and why. Knowledge that allows decision-makers to turn good intentions into results that people can feel and measure. This is what inspired me to create Kerus Consulting International. Over the years, I have had the privilege of evaluating some of Africa’s most ambitious energy and infrastructure projects across many countries. I have seen moments of great success and others that reminded me of how complex development can be. I have learned that technical expertise alone is not enough. Real impact also requires cultural understanding, adaptability, and genuine partnership with the people we serve. KCI was built on the belief that Africa’s development challenges need more than consulting firms. They need trusted partners who understand the local context, speak the languages, and stay engaged beyond the final report. This is the kind of organization we strive to be. Today, through our three main pillars , our Core Consulting Services, Kerus Solutions, and the Kerus Academy we support governments, development banks, and institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Our bilingual team works fluently in English and French, helping to connect Francophone and Anglophone Africa through solutions that are practical, inclusive, and based on evidence.
